On January 27th , 5 members of The Blue Ridge FFA Chapter competed in various areas of public speaking. In this contest there were three areas to compete in. Creed Speaking where freshmen Cassidy Burris and Megan Schumacher recited the FFA Creed, which is celebrating its 85 th anniversary, from memory, Prepared Speaking where sophomore Parker Otto wrote a speech, memorized it, and spoke it to judges, and Extemporaneous Speaking where juniors Vanessa Mattingly and Kylie Moubry had
a certain amount of time to write a speech at the contest on a particular topic and read it to judges. Placing in 2 nd place was Parker Otto who will be moving on to district in March. The Blue Ridge FFA extends much gratitude to teachers from the Blue Ridge Junior High and High School who came and acted as judges at one of our most important events of the year.
